About

I am Mary Louise Tompkins, also known as “Weezie".” I was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. Graduated from Garfield High School, and played on the 1980 state championship basketball team. I moved to Portland, Oregon, playing D1 basketball for Portland State Women’s basketball team & I’ve been living in the Portland/Vancouver area ever since 1981.

Through art I have navigated my hardships & adversity by being my creative adventurous self. I have built Alley-Oop Photography and Design, as a catalyst to my grief and trauma. Art & photography have enabled me to be the artist I am today and hopefully you can see the reflection of my dedication in the richness of my art.

“The World is a mansion. There’s plenty of room for everyone” MLT 2024. This quote of mine I thought of while traveling abroad. My painting is an illustration of multiple homes as a village. My message with this quote is to let folks know that I envision us all under one roof. No one is excluded. We are all welcome. “No one is left behind.” Mary Mary
